Japanese juggernaut Kawasaki Heavy Industries is the latest company to fall victim to a security breach. The company, which employs more than 35,000 people and has offices all over the globe recently disclosed the  data breach  to its customers. The company discovered that one or more unauthorized parties accessed a company server in Japan from an office in Thailand on June 11th of this year (2020). Kawasaki's  IT security  staff halted all communications between the two sites the same day the discovery was made. A subsequent investigation revealed that other unauthorized access from other overseas sites had occurred between June 11 through July 8 th,  which prompted the company to halt communications between those sites as well. Communications were restored on November 30 th  once the investigation had been concluded and the company implemented new security protocols. In 2020, there have been a number of high-profile  data breaches , and as we move closer to the end of the year, we have yet another to report. This time, cellular carrier  T-Mobile  is the victim, having recently disclosed a security incident that exposed the phone numbers and call records of some of the company's customers. The company's official statement on the matter reads in part, as follows: " We are currently notifying a small number of customers (less than 0.2 percent) that some information related to their account may have been illegally accessed. The data accessed did NOT include any names associated with the account, financial data, credit card information, social security numbers, passwords, PINs or physical or  email  addresses. The information that was accessed may have included phone numbers, number of lines subscribed to and in a small number of cases some call-related information collected as part of normal operation and service."   Call Now   There ...

Recently, one or more Amazon employees disclosed customer email addresses to an unknown third party, prompting Amazon to send a notification  email  out to impacted customers which reads as follows: " We are writing to let you know that your e-mail address was disclosed by an Amazon employee to a third-party in violation of our policies. As a result, we have fired the employee, referred them to law enforcement, and are supporting law enforcement's criminal prosecution." "No other information related to your account was shared. This is not a result of anything you have done and there is no need for you to take any action. We apologize for this incident."   Call Now   While we applaud the quick, decisive action on Amazon's part, the email they sent out is almost annoyingly short on details. When did this happen? How did it happen? Who were the email addresses disclosed to? How large was the  breach ? We don't know. We don't have answers to any of those...
