Rogues' Memories of Barbados.
Have fun with this fun-filled narrative of a real rogue who is an adventurer at heart and an all-around sport with a well-developed sense of fun. Rex Wotton ran the West Coast Watersports center at Coral Reef hotel. It was only a short walk from Settlers Beach. The center took hotel guest diving and on daytime and sunset cruises around the coast. He was a master seaman trained by the Royal Merchant Navy in all matters of navigation, and marine work. Rex Wotton was just one of the most charming Rogues in Paradise. His sense of fun and sharp wit enveloped every situation. He was independent at an early age and often disappeared for days at a time, to camp along the banks of Joes' river , catching cray fish for dinner. He built campfires from coconut husk and twigs and cooked his catch with breadfruit, wild herbs, plantain, and edible vines. He ate mangoes, and local berries like fat pork, and sea grapes, that grow along the beach.
One time, when a person thrust a drink at him, he immediately dumped the contents of a wine bucket over them. When satirized by a comic who made an insulting comment about him, Rex returned the snub by stealing away the comics' famous green bowler hat. Right past security and the door guard, he strolled with a provocative air and his roguish smiling laugh.
This was his manner, he would not let much pass him and always answered the insult with a twofold measure of the same, but it was packaged in grace and style. He rarely displayed annoyance, but it was waiting when needed.
